Sponsoring-Toolbox Issue #1: Is Network Marketing For Me
Hello Fellow E-preneur,
Is network marketing for me? This is the question that goes through every persons mind when they are considering joining a network marketing company or mlm. This is the exact question I asked myself 10 years ago when I joined my first mlm.
When i first joined my first network marketing company 10 years ago I had never even heard of network marketing or mlm before. I will admit that it was quite an adventure and after only 1 month I was asking myself “is network marketing for me”. At this point my answer was YES! I knew deep down inside that network marketing was the right choice for me. The problem I was having was what do I do.
My sponsor was also new to network marketing and our upline was about 2 hours away. The system I was given consisted of listening to motivational tapes in my car from leaders in the company. I loved listening to the tapes but, I soon discovered that I was gwtting all the motivation I needed but no true direction or path to take to build my business.
I was told the typical network marketing path:
- Make a list of all your family members
- Make a list of all your friends. (look in your yearbook)
- Who is your mailman, dentist, barber, hairdresser etc.
I made this huge list of over 250 people. In 3 months of calling all these people I was able to sign-up my mother, brothers, and 1 friend. They all stayed in about 3 months. They were being family and doing this to help me out. Don’t get me wrong I still truly beleive that you should still show your friends and family the business you are in but only if you truly beleive in it and are fully committed to the company. If friends and family see you are truly committed to something then your excitement becomes contagious and they will join not to help you but to help themselves.
What we need to learn is to not force our new business on friends, family, and strangers we meet along our travels. People have changed over the years and they no longer want to be sold. People are sold all day long and are bombarded with constant advertisements. We see thousands of advertisements every day without even knowing it.
What our goal as network marketers should be is to educate our friends, family, and new acquaintances on our opportunity at a slower pace. What this allows us to do is build a relationship. This also helps take the pressure off your potential client because we are no longer applying pressure to them. We are letting them get all the time and information they need.
This form of marketing is called attraction marketing and it is one of the most effective ways to build your business without wasting your time or your potential clients time. Attraction marketing helps us build a solid relationship with our potetial client. We become more of a friend and an educator instead of a business associate. This is one of the best ways to attract people to you and your business, because people want to work with people who are relatable and show a genuine interest in them and not just what they can do for them.
One of the best tools I use in attraction marketing is Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring. The information I have received from him has helped me not only start building my business, but it also allows me to earn an income while building my list of potential clients. This allows us to basically get clients for free. Mike Dillard and Magnetic Sponsoring offer a ton of free info and I highly recommend you check it out.
